4th - 9th Feb	NBD Sponsored for the UNEP Governing Council (GCSS) /Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GMEF) and Associated Events, in Tandem with the 3rd Zayed Prize Award Ceremony. The purpose of the award is to promote sustainable development locally, regionally and internationally, especially in the areas of environmental education and awareness and clean technology.

Environment 2005

NBD recently joined efforts with Dubai Municipality and WWF in order to raise awareness of the UAE residents and tourists on the Ras Al Khor area as a protected nature reserve.

With the first phase of the Ras Al Khor project already completed the bank has reflected, through its sponsorship, its ongoing commitment towards preserving the nation's natural resources and its environment.

Ras Al Khor Sanctuary is one of the few urban protected areas in the world. This sanctuary preserves the natural ecosystems of the region and maintains the integrity of its natural environment.
